How the file is built
Sources
Go Flock Yourself is a working file, not a newsroom. Curated items keep canonical URLs, dates, and a one-line "why it is in the file" so you can cite without rereading the internet. The live wire is Google News RSS for Flock, ALPR, and license-plate readers — citations use the publisher URL, not the Google News wrapper, so a paste unfurls. The X file is a desk selection of posts people are actually quoting — reporters, mayors, the vendor, DeFlock, 404 Media — not a firehose. Company and government releases sit next to critics on purpose.
The Washington Post
The 2026 officer-misuse investigation and the follow-on product-change coverage. Their X post is in the file as a short cite.
Associated Press / CNN / NYT / ABC
Wire and national scale: agency counts, camera counts, the August guardrail announcement, and municipal cutoffs.
404 Media
Documentary ICE / CBP / DEA side-door access, the abortion-search records, and the search-engine leak of cop queries. Their X posts sit next to the longform.
Electronic Frontier Foundation
Protest-surveillance analysis, named wrongful-stop victims, California litigation, and the San Jose warrant demand.
Institute for Justice
Error-to-force tally: innocent motorists stopped, detained, or jailed on bad plate reads.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation
Primary source on the Albany PD criminal cases — not an advocacy write-up.
Business Insider / Sacramento Bee
Roseville alert-error rate (71% of alerts) plus the department's denominator caveat.
WATE / WBIR / Knoxville News Sentinel
Knox County rollout, mayor's requested ban, commission review, installation pause.
Glenn Jacobs / Frank Luntz on X
Knox County Mayor's prohibition video and the cross-party framing post. Tennessee primary sources, not recaps.
DeFlock / InvestigateTV / FactPost on X
The mapping accounts and TV investigators posting cancellations, lookup tools, and misuse tallies as they land.
Flock Safety on X
Company primary source for the August 13 guardrails and the Audit Assistance defense. Cite as a claim.
NPR / StateScoop
Contract cancellations — 30+ localities by Feb 2026; agencies in 23 states by August.
Congressional Research Service
Nonpartisan Fourth Amendment status: no federal appellate holding on ALPR database queries yet.
DeFlock map / Have I Been Flocked
Crowdsourced camera map and lookup. Volunteer pins — treat locations as alleged, not a vendor dump.
CISA
Motorola/Vigilant LPR advisory — the ALPR stack is not only Flock.
Google News live wire
Refreshed from the desk. Items are classified heuristically; open the original before citing as gospel.
If a live-wire headline duplicates a desk item, it is dropped. Paste anything the wire missed into your private file.
