How the file is built

Sources

Primary wires first: dockets, agendas, bills, agency releases, then coverage. If a live-wire headline duplicates a desk item, it is dropped. Sign in to Your file to paste what the wire missed and to store keys for optional tools.

Added to the wire

Paste a site or its RSS address. The next desk refresh polls it. Flock / ALPR filter is on unless you turn it off. Reason is already built in.

How the file is built

  • No model on ingest

    News, dockets, agendas, bills, agency releases, and the Flock newsroom are pulled with RSS, Atom, sitemaps, and Legistar JSON. Classification is regex and a place gazetteer. The only LLM feature is Brief this view, and that runs on an xAI key you paste in Your file — never a shared key.

  • Schmidt v. City of Norfolk, 4th Cir. 26-1227

    The Fourth Amendment lead case. Atom feed on the appeal docket plus the E.D. Va. trial docket (2:24-cv-00621). Filings land here before a reporter writes them up.

  • United States v. Slaybaugh, 11th Cir. 25-14394

    Legistar Web API for cities that expose it (San Jose, Seattle, Oakland, Columbus, Detroit, Boston, and others). Keyword: Flock, ALPR, license plate. That is how a cancellation shows up as a line item before the article. Knox County is not on Legistar's public API; paste commission packets into Your file until a Granicus feed is confirmed.

    Washington SB 6002 (signed model), Ohio Cutrona felony-misuse announcement (no bill number yet), Arkansas SB 446 / 2013 ALPR Act, Iowa 2027 session watch. Official legislature pages. Live LegiScan polling waits on a key you add in Your file — Cloudflare blocks anonymous LegiScan RSS.

  • Georgia Bureau of Investigation

    Direct RSS. Albany arrests came from GBI, not a newspaper. Keyword-filtered so the feed is not every murder presser in Georgia. POST/decertification and SC Criminal Justice Academy papers are still a scrape problem — no public RSS yet; Hammond-style separations get pasted into Your file.

Advocacy and vendor, direct

  • 404 Media, EFF Deeplinks, IJ, ACLU, Reason

    Publisher RSS, keyword-filtered for Flock/ALPR. Reason is https://reason.com/feed/. Not routed through Google News.

  • Cato

    Cato's RSS is Cloudflare-blocked from this host. Schmidt amicus coverage stays as a desk item until that feed opens.

  • Flock Safety newsroom

    Sitemap lastmod on flocksafety.com/blog — announcements at publish time, marked as vendor claims.

  • Flock on X (@flocksafety)

    Desk-selected posts (case codes, Audit Assistance, seven-day retention). A live @flocksafety firehose needs an X API key. This app will not spend a shared one.
